Lévy Gorvy Dayan - La Mort de L'Amour & Ménage à trois
Leonor Fini and Aleksandra Waliszewska (October 9 - December 20, 2025)
Tucked away down Dover Street, is a delightfully dark exhibition held by Lévy Gorvy Dayan. What a treat this Halloween! This erotic and gothic exhibition, La Mort de L’Amour, showcases paintings by the Surrealist painter Leonor Fini (1907–1996) and contemporary Polish artist Aleksandra Waliszewska (b. 1976).
A separate exhibition on the ground floor, titled Ménage à trois, presents Fini, Waliszewska and Stanislao Lepri (1905–1980), the cheeky title hinting at the polyamorous relationship that Fini had with Lepri.
The upstairs gallery interior with high ceilings, creates the perfect setting for these sumptuous paintings which are perfectly lit. The red-walls of the room combined with the memento mori paintings, skulls, ghoulish women, being devoured by demons and darkness, feels like you’ve walked into Angela Carter’s The Bloody Chamber. It’s a lovely lair to spend an evening or an afternoon browsing the romantic, seductive and nightmarish scenes. Do check it out.
